The Darius Miller Band Shell was designed by architect Harold Field Kellogg and built in 1939 with funds from the will of merchant Darius Miller. The music shell is 65 feet wide and 28 feet deep. The original music shell was destroyed by fire in 1966 and promptly rebuilt to it's initial design. Behind the music shell is tiered seating.

The Band Shell is used for performances of New Britain's Summer Music Series on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
