This benchmark is located a short distance to the west of State Highway 59 in southern Campbell County on Thunder Basin National Grassland.

From the turnoff for Forest Service Road 967-D along Highway 59 at N43 35.806 W105 28.578, walk south-southwest for 0.22 miles to reach the benchmark. It is set in the top of a square concrete post that projects about 8 inches above the ground and is about 6 inches to the south of a T-post. The old road grade that once connected Pine Tree to Verse that is mentioned in the 1934 description is now barely visible just to the east of the benchmark.
