Galveston transit terminal is located in the heart of the Strand district of the city of Galveston. It is conveniently located across from the old Santa Fe Railroad station, and a within a few short blocks from the passenger docks.
The terminal was completed in 2016, and serves as the city's transportation hub. The bulk of traffic is Galveston-based Island Transit, the city's municipal service, and Amtrak coaches to/from Houston.
The facility also houses a parking garage and a tourist information center/confectionery, which is geared toward cruise ship passengers and crew members.
