Kenrokuen Fountain is located about 125m from the Katsurozaka Entrance Gate to the Kenrokuen Garden. It is the oldest fountain in Japan, operating by natural water pressure.

Kenrokuen Garden is by far the most famous part of Kanazawa. Originally built as the outer garden of Kanazawa Castle, it was opened to the public in 1875. It is filled with a variety of trees, ponds, waterfalls and flowers stretching over 25 acres.
There are various entrance on either sides of the garden. There is also a teahouse and souvenir shop so you can catch your breath and drink some tea or peruse the knickknacks.
Admission is 320 for adults, 100 for 6-17 year olds, and free for babies or people 65 years old and above.
Hours: 8:00 – 17:00; Free to enter from sunrise to opening.
