Swamp Creek Road Bridge is an example of a typical multiple span nineteenth century stone highway bridge. It was constructed of semi-coursed, roughly squared stones in 1892. The arch spans are relatively small (25') for a bridge of this construction date, but stylistically this bridge is similar to the other bridges built earlier in ontgomery County. With its excellent integrity, roughly squared stone construction, and styling it is a fine representative of 19th century multi-span stone arch bridges in Montgomery County.
