Spider Bite Beer Company was conceived back in 2008 by co-founders and friends Larry Goldstein and Anthony LiCausi. Based in Holbrook, Long Island, Spider Bite crafts a number of beers from the Pale Ale family, in addition to Stouts, Belgians, and Saisons. The name of the brewery was inspired after a summer of too many bug bites.

Co-founder and Brewmaster Larry Goldstein was born and raised on Long Island, New York and graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a degree in Biology. He then headed to Atlanta, Georgia to get his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, and it was during this time that he discovered his love and passion for craft beer. Larry began hosting beer tastings, home brewing his own beer, and entering and judging beer competitions. He even traveled the country in search of new Craft Breweries.
To take his passion a step further, Larry started writing articles and a tasting column for the Southern Brew News, as well as amassing notebooks of over 5,000 individual beer reviews. When he started assistant brewing for a local brewpub, he decided that it was more than just a hobby and left his chiropractic practice after running it for more than ten years. He returned to his hometown of Long Island to fulfill his dream of opening a brewery.

Although very small, Spider Bite Beer Company has been off to a strong start, earning the 2012 FX Matt Memorial Cup for “Best Craft Brewery” in New York State in their first year of business. Many of Spider Bite’s beers have garnered individual medals.

Hour: Wednesday-Friday 3-9pm.
Saturday 12-9pm.
Sunday 12-6pm.
