The Milky way galaxy has been honoured with a street name in Bilthoven (or does it have to do with some milk...)

NL In Bilthoven heb ik langs de straat de Melkweg gewerkt. Ik moest meteen aan het sterrenstelsel denken waar we ook deel van uitmaken. Maar waarschijnlijk heeft het ermee te maken dat het hier vroege agrarisch gebied is geweest en dat hier koeien hebben gelopen…

De Melkweg, het Melkwegstelsel of het galactisch stelsel, van het Griekse galaxias, of kyklos galaktikos = 'melkcirkel', is het sterrenstelsel waarin het zonnestelsel met de Aarde zich bevindt. Vanaf de Aarde is de Melkweg te zien als een lichtende band die de hemel omspant, mits het donker genoeg is. Door lichtvervuiling is de Melkweg op sommige plaatsen moeilijk of niet meer te zien. De Melkweg bevat 200 tot 400 miljard sterren en is daarmee van gemiddelde grootte.

ENG In Bilthoven I worked along the street the Melkweg. I immediately thought of the galaxy that we are also a part of. But it probably has to do with the fact that it was an early agricultural area and that cows walked here…
