A lo largo de este camino, desde Octubre a Diciembre, se pueden coger morogos. Están buenísimos!!!
Morogo es el nombre gallego de Madroño, o Strawberry en inglés. Se trata de una baya de color rojo (cuando está maduro) y con sabor dulce. Aunque se puede utilizar para hacer gelatinas o mermeladas, también se puede comer crudo y, como más rico está es recién arrancado del árbol.
También se puede meter en aguardiente y hacer un licor de morogos que realmente está buenísimo.
Una curiosidad: El fruto del madroño empieza su fermentación alcohólica cuando aún está colgando del árbol, con lo que, si comes muchos, puedes tener una sensación parecida a una borrachera.
A lo largo de todo este camino, y otros muchos por los alrededores de Ourense, se pueden encontrar muchos morogos. Salid a buscarlos, que están buenísimos!

Morogo is the Galician name for Strawberry tree. It is a red berry (when ripe) with a sweet taste. Although it can be used to make jellies or jams, it can also be eaten raw, and is best eaten fresh from the tree.
You can also put it in brandy and make a morogos liqueur that is really delicious.
A curiosity: The fruit of the strawberry tree begins its alcoholic fermentation when it is still hanging from the tree, so if you eat a lot of them, you can have a feeling similar to a drunkenness.
All along this route, and many others around Ourense, you can find many morogos. Go out and look for them, they are delicious!
