The Sundial is on a squarish concrete pad to the north of a mature tree, close enough to possibly interfere with the sundial in summer months. Behind the Sundial is the impressive Christ Church Anglican church.
At the northern rim of the Sundial is the Latin phrase of: "Horas non numero nisi serenas", meaning, 'I count only the hours that are serene'.
There is also a comprehensive 'Corrections' table, to make it accurate for a location ~300km South of here!!
