[EN] In this roundabout in Tordesillas we find a huge hollow globe made of corten steel and placed on a concrete platform. The silhouette of the continents are thin sheets of metal placed on vertical and horizontal bars that form the structure of the globe.

On the platform we can read: "TRATADO DE TORDESILLAS 1494", in reference to when the kingdoms of Castile and Portugal signed the treaty that divided the Atlantic Ocean by means of a line drawn from pole to pole, 370 leagues to the west of the islands of Cape Verde, leaving the eastern hemisphere for the Crown of Portugal and the western hemisphere for the Crown of Castile. In this way, the Catholic Monarchs and King John II of Portugal agree on what conquests both States will be able to make in relation to the newly discovered world.
