Architectural Style: Gothic Revival
There are two statues on the front of this mausoleum, above the entrance, over the wrought iron gates with it's hop flowers and plants design.
The male figure is dressed like a king. Could be St. Louis, of could be a mythical King of Beers image.
The female statue is dressed in a style usually assigned to the Middle East a few thousand years ago. Could be a religious connection, or not.
I could find no reference in the last year of research as to the identity of these statues.
"4. Adolphus Busch, brewery owner
Thomas P. Barnett, architect
Missouri pink granite. Gothic Revival mausoleum with paired bronze/glass doors. Ornate finials, drop pendants and hop flower embellishments surround the arched entry. Flying buttresses with elaborate spires (pink granite) frame the main elevation. Slate gabled roof with central copper spire." ~ NRHP Nomination Form
"Designed by architect Thomas P. Barnett, this elaborate Gothic Revival mausoleum was constructed in 1921 using unpolished red Missouri granite. The mausoleum has a gray-green slate roof topped with a copper spire, ornate finials, and engraved grape vines. The bronze doors are topped with hop flower embellishments. The structure features elaborate stained glass panels, and thus resembles a small church. The Latin inscription above the entrance reads, “Veni, Vidi, Vici,” which translates to, “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
"Born in 1839 in Germany, Adolphus Busch was the co-founder of Anheuser-Busch Brewery. He joined the business after marrying Eberhard Anheuser’s daughter Lily, who is also laid to rest in the mausoleum." ~ Bellefontaine Cemetery
