De rode boog is een kunstwerk dat eigenlijk ‘Stadspoort’ heet. Het stond eerst over de Rhoonse Baan. Het zou verplaatst worden naar de ingang van het park Buijtenland, ook bij de Rhoonse Baan, maar dat besluit werd in februari 2009 stop gezet. De funderingen waren toen al gestort! Uiteindelijk besloot men in 2012 maar het beeld te plaatsen.

Het is een opvallende, heel grote boog met een knik erin. Het is gemaakt van staal met rode verf. De boog vormt een goed herkenningspunt. Vandaar dat de parkeerplaats inmiddels bekend staat als ‘rode boog’.

The red arch is a work of art that is actually called 'Stadspoort’. It first stood over the Rhoonse Baan. It was to be moved to the entrance of the Buijtenland park, also at the Rhoonse Baan, but that decision was stopped in February 2009. The foundations had already been poured! In the end, it was decided in 2012 to place the statue.

It is a striking, very large arch with a kink in it. It is made of steel with red paint. The arch is a good landmark. That is why the parking lot is now known as the 'red arch'.
