In colonial Connecticut the present day City of Manchester, CT was called Orford Parish. A Revolutionary War monument in the memory of the soldiers from Orford Parish was placed by the of Daughters of the American Revolution. The pink granite monument has a round column topped by a sphere rising from the center of a 6' diameter basin. The column is inscribed:
