The church of Santa María la Nueva, a parish church dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, was built in stone in the 16th century. In a Renaissance style with Gothic elements, it has a single, wide nave covered with a pointed barrel vault from the 18th century supported by transverse arches.

To the side of the epistle side is the cover, guarded by a portico with a semicircular arch and flanked by Corinthian columns that support a mixtilinear arch with a niche.

The main chapel is covered by a ribbed vault with terceletes. The main altarpiece, a Baroque work from the 18th century, has a single tetrastyle body and a pointed attic-shell. The image of a Virgin with the Child stands out among all.

Despite the solid construction, at the end of the 1990s and due to heavy rains, part of the foundation gave way, collapsing the tower and part of the walls, covering the missing wall with a huge stained glass window.
