This statue shows Christ carrying his cross on the way to his crucifixion. His face has a pained expression as can be expected. He is carrying the cross over his left shoulder and the statue is carved out of marble. This helps to explain its good preservation form over i20 years.
The inscription reads "In Loving Memory of William Hickey Died 27th Dec 1899 Aged 36 Years
Joseph Hickey Died 18th May 1915 Aged 56 years
Maria Ellen Hickey Died 16th March 1918 Aged 54 Years
Beloved sons and daughter of the late Josepha and Maria Hickey of Menangle
Eternal Rest Grant Until Them O'Lord And Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Them
