Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza es la iglesia parroquial de Villerías de Campos, se emplaza al este de la localidad, en la calle Corro Iglesia. Su edificación data del siglo XII, de la que conserva una portada románica en el lado de la Epístola precedida de un pórtico del siglo XVI. Su construcción es de piedra y se conforma con tres naves cubiertas con bóvedas de aristas y una capilla mayor de crucería estrellada. Su torre conserva vestigios románicos.
LA IGLESIA DE NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ESPERANZA es una construcción levantada en piedra caliza, de tonalidad oscura, proveniente de los próximos páramos de Torozos. El aparejo es de sillares de pequeño tamaño pero bien desbastados. Sin embargo, el brazo del crucero, el hastial y la parte baja de la torre son de sillarejo.
La planta, orientada al este, es rectangular de tres naves y testero plano con tres ábsides rectangulares. Las naves, de tres tramos, van separadas por arcos formeros de amplia luz, apuntados y de medio punto alternativamente, que descansan sobre pilares rectangulares con una semicolumna adosada en los lados cortos. Una moldura corrida, de sección de cima recta y decorada con palmetas en las esquinas, hace funciones de capitel en todo el soporte. Las semicolumnas presentan basa con plinto y toro con garras.
La conexión entre las naves y la tripartita cabecera se hace por tres arcos de medio punto, cuyos arranques están embutidos en los muros y pilares. El central, de mayor luz y flecha que los laterales, está ligeramente abocinado. Dos arcos ojivales de amplio trazado permiten la comunicación entre las capillas. De éstas, la mayor y la del evangelio van cubiertas por sendas bóvedas estrelladas con múltiples claves y nervios combados. La bóveda de la capilla de la epístola, elevada con ladrillos enlucidos de yeso, es de lunetos.
En la portada románica, abierta en el primer tramo de la nave de la epístola, es donde se concentra la única decoración escultórica del templo. Consta de un arco de ingreso apuntado, con bocel, y tres arquivoltas que descansan sobre columnas acodilladas entre las que asoman los baquetones que recorren las esquinas de las jambas. El arquivoltio se decora, del interior al exterior, con estrecho bocel, dos filas de dientes de sierra afrontados y un bocel entre medias cañas. Presenta seis capiteles figurados y muy deteriorados lo que dificulta su lectura iconográfica. De izquierda a derecha nos encontramos en primer lugar con un capitel en el que quedan restos de una figura humana, posiblemente un arquero o sagitario.

THE CHURCH OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ESPERANZA is a construction made of limestone, dark in color, from the nearby moors of Torozos. The rig is made of small but well-cut ashlars. However, the arm of the transept, the gable and the lower part of the tower are made of ashlar.
The plant, oriented to the east, is rectangular with three naves and a flat front with three rectangular apses. The naves, in three sections, are separated by arches with a wide span, alternately pointed and semicircular, which rest on rectangular pillars with a semi-column attached to the short sides. A continuous molding, with a straight top section and decorated with palmettes in the corners, functions as a capital on the entire support. The semi-columns have a base with a plinth and a bull with claws.
The connection between the naves and the tripartite head is made by three semicircular arches, whose starts are embedded in the walls and pillars. The central one, with a greater span and arrow than the lateral ones, is slightly flared. Two broad pointed arches allow communication between the chapels. Of these, the largest and the one in the gospel are covered by two star-shaped vaults with multiple keystones and warped ribs. The vault of the epistle chapel, raised with bricks plastered with plaster, has lunettes.
The only sculptural decoration of the temple is concentrated in the Romanesque portal, open in the first section of the nave of the epistle. It consists of a pointed entrance arch, with a rounded shape, and three archivolts that rest on angled columns between which peek out the baquetones that run along the corners of the jambs. The archivolt is decorated, from the inside to the outside, with a narrow contour, two rows of facing saw teeth and a contour between half reeds. It presents six figured capitals and very deteriorated which makes its iconographic reading difficult. From left to right we first find a capital in which remains of a human figure remain, possibly an archer or sagittarius.
