It was built in 1864 for the the Loyal Balmain Lodge of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a friendly society who owned and used the building from its construction until 1975.
It now houses a hairdresser.Darling Street is the main street leading to the waterfront and is now part of the modern inner city of Sydney.
Location Details: Balmain is one of the oldest suburbs of Sydney and was a working class suburb. It is close to the harbour and gave easy access to the wharves and factories.
