To reach the marker, I suggest parking at the pull-off along State Highway 59 at N44 31.895 W105 25.692. From here, walk along the two-track road leading southeast from the gate for about 0.30 miles. Turn southwest and hike across relatively flat and sagebrush-covered ground for about 0.12 miles to reach the base of a scoria-capped ridge that runs southwest-northeast. Hike up along the crest of the scoria ridge for about 0.25 miles and drop down about 10 feet to the north of the ridge to find the marker. Erosion has caused both the marker and its witness post to lean about 45 degrees to the north.

One can find the witness T-post for the sixteenth closing corner of section 6 about 150 feet to the west of the standard corner marker. A small landslide has likely covered up the marker. Given that only the top 1.5 feet of the T-post is sticking out of the slide material, and assuming that the marker traveled downhill with the T-post, it is about 2-3 feet under dirt at the time of this Waymark's posting. Be aware that both this standard corner and the nearby covered sixteenth closing corner are on the slopes of eroding badlands - landslide risks are present during rain or snowmelt events. Hiking to these corners requires a little more effort and risk than other markers in the Burnt Hollow area (especially in muddy or icy conditions).
Type of survey mark: Aluminum cap on steel pipe
