"The Great Northern Railroad Depot was built in 1893 and initially located on the east end of Third Street in Yankton, but in 1905 was moved to the northwest corner of Second and Capitol streets. It was the third railroad to come to Yankton and connected the historic Capital City to Sioux Falls. The cost of a round trip ticket was $1.27. The last passenger train from this depot departed on Sept. 30, 1958."
The Dakota Territorial Museum has several historic buildings and a historical marker on display in Westside Park. The park entrance is at 610 Summit Street.
