Located on the south side of Carlton Center Road (M-43), just west of Usborne Road. There must be parking somewhere, but the gate was locked when we were there. They must want to keep out the riffraff that visits in the Winter.

Receiving its name from Carlton Township in western New York, this area was settled in 1836 by Samuel Wickham and George Fuller. The township was formally organized in 1842. This structure, built in 1867, is recognized by the Michigan Township Association as the fourth oldest township hall in the state. A center of political and social activity, it is much the same as it was when completed and is still heated with a wood-burning stove.
Historical Name: Wickham and George Fuller

Description:
My thoughts: 4th oldest...wood-burning stove. Waymark this one soon, because another town hall is moving up on the list.

Visit Instructions:
Take a photo of your GPS at the marker. We'd prefer a photo of you with your GPS, but we realize that sometimes that's just not possible or preferable. Also include a bit about your visit to the marker.

NEW: Instructions for logging Missing Marker Visits.

If the Marker is missing, but still listed here, you must provide a photo of you at the actual item historically honored. (This should be the waymark's "default" image). Indicate in your log that you took your photo at the Historical Location instead of the marker, because the marker was missing. Please also still include a bit about your visit to the site.
