A young man of only 22 years old, Milton W. Reeves was on active military duty during World War 1 when he was shipped overseas to fight. Unfortunately, he died in the service of his county on October 11, 1918. He is buried in the Camp Verde Cemetery which is less than a mile away from where the historic Camp Verde military installation was built in 1856. Camp Verde is famous for its experimental use of camels as a military pack animal. However, by 1869, the experiment with the use of camels ended when Camp Verde was closed for use as a military camp. His Woodsman of the World tombstone is the only one in this cemetery. It is found near the tree by the entrance gate in the middle of the fence along Verde Creek Road. The WOW crest is in the top third of the log monument. The scroll in the mid section of the monument reads as follows:
