Hans Bayens, 1924-2003.
In Oldenzaal kent men hem van zijn levensgrote beeld “De lopende Vrouw” dat recht tegenover museum Het Palthe-Huis staat en voor het Michgoriushuis.
Hans Bayens was naast beeldend kunstenaar ook een impressionistische schilder, met een eigen stijl. Olieverven, tekeningen, aquarellen en pastels zijn naast zijn bronzen beelden en beeldjes het totale en omvangrijke oeuvre wat hij maakte. Naast portretten en thema’s als circus, landschap, antiquariaat, rechterlijke macht, ziekenhuiswereld en orkest. Daarnaast maakte hij veel historisch gelijkende Bayens-Interieurs, in pastels en tekeningen.

In Oldenzaal, he is known for his life-size statue “The Walking Woman” that stands right opposite museum Het Palthe-Huis and in front of the Michgoriushuis.
In addition to being a visual artist, Hans Bayens was also an impressionist painter, with his own style.
