Es la Catedral más colorista de todas y la que luce un vestido más luminoso. Es un perfecto ejemplo de gótico francés reflejado en la pureza ascensional de sus líneas y en la exquisita composición de las vidrieras que bañan de luz el interior del edificio. Atesora una colección única: 737 vidrieras con una superficie de 1765 metros cuadrados realizadas ininterrumpidamente entre los siglos XIII al XX.
La Pulcra Leonina, calificativo latino que la define como hermosa, nació en el siglo XII con la vocación de ser la Catedral más grande de la época. No lo consiguió pero, a cambio, se convirtió en una de las más bellas del gótico español.
Está construida sobre el solar de unas termas romanas del siglo II que, 800 años después, el emblemático rey Ordoño II convirtió en palacio. Sus puertas, su impresionante rosetón, el coro (uno de los más antiguos del país) y la delicadeza de algunas figuras, como la venerada Virgen Blanca (original en el interior) que preside el trasiego de caminantes, son referentes imprescindibles que el visitante no debe perderse.

It treasures a unique collection: 737 stained glass windows with an area of ??1765 square meters, made without interruption between the 13th and 20th centuries.
La Pulcra Leonina, a Latin term that defines it as beautiful, was born in the 12th century with the vocation of being the largest Cathedral of the time. It did not succeed but, in exchange, it became one of the most beautiful of Spanish Gothic.
It is built on the site of some 2nd century Roman baths that, 800 years later, the emblematic King Ordoño II turned into a palace. Its doors, its impressive rose window, the choir (one of the oldest in the country) and the delicacy of some figures, such as the revered Virgen Blanca (original inside) who presides over the movement of walkers, are essential references that the visitor does not must be missed.
