Those of us who are old enough to watch the Tonight Show's kids in the 1970s are well familiar with Johnny Carson. Our children? Not so much!

I admit that I used to turn my 12 inch black and white television on in my room as low as the volume could go to watch Johnny Carson as a kid growing up in the 70s. My mother had this silly idea that I needed to be in bed and asleep by 1030pm if I was gonna be going to school in the morning, so that I could do well in the third grade. She also thought Johnny Carson was a to risqué for kids.
I admit that despite my mother's desires, I watched Carson nearly every night, except when she had taken the TV out of my room to punish me -- usually for watching Johnny Carson. I thought he was hilarious.
Daddy Blaster did not get to see Carson as often, since much of his childhood was spent overseas since his dad was in the U.S. Air Force, but he still watched Carson when they were stateside.
Fast forward 50 years, and Mama and Daddy Blaster were excited to see Carson's boyhood home but the younger Blasterz had no idea who he was. We have obviously fallen down on the job of educating these kids on 1970s celebrity culture.
The Carson boyhood home is located at 306 S 13th Street in Norfolk Nebraska.
