This solarpark is placed in the area Kaifenheim, a town in the Eifel. It can be found about 400m near to a forest in the south-east of the town. The field, where it has been placed was a former building debris dump and hence could have been used for agricultural purposes. Building a solar-power-plant was a good solution to use this area.
It hast 4964 solarmodules and is producing up to 1216 kW. The electricity is supplying the citizens of Kaifenheim. Electricity produced there, which is not consumed by the town is supplied to the public electricity network.
The solar plant started on 21. August 2013 and is operated by a public comnpany.
