Marker Text:
This is the largest of a number of dry-stone arch bridges which furnished the highways of Tennessee before the War Between the States. It was begun in 1858, and completed a short time before Tennessee seceded from the Union. It accommodated a thriving north-south traffic for three-quarters of a century.
