Granville Davisson Hall
Born in 1837, Hall worked at the Wheeling Intelligencer during the Civil War. His reporting during the creation of WV served as the basis for his publication, The Rending of Virginia. Hall also recorded the proceedings of the constitutional convention of 1861~63. He became clerk of the House of Delegates in 1863 and Secretary of State in 1865. Died in Illinois in 1934.
