Mark’s In & Out Beefburgers do make some of the best burgers in Livingston. They can be found along Highway 89 at the northwest corner of the city. At night, just look for all the RED and BLUE NEON.

The "Then" photo here is from about 1970, give or take a year or two. Both it and the "Now" photo were taken from the same angle, but the "Now" photo from a bit closer, accentuating the height of the roof somewhat.

Having been in business since 1954, they definitely must be doing something right. Maybe it's all that neon that's to be seen on all three sides of the small building which faces the highway. Since they've been in business since 1954, that neon could be that old, given that the paint under much of it is getting pretty ratty looking.
Mark’s In & Out Beefburgers is an original 1950's drive in Livingston, Montana, established in 1954. We are open seasonally through the baseball season, April through October. You'll love our "Famously Fresh", 100% Pure Beefburgers! Our beef is ground fresh daily by Diamond N Meats. Never frozen! We cook and dress every Beefburger to your desire! Add a side order of crispy fries, onion rings or tater tots to round out your meal! Wash it down with an ice cold soft drink or a creamy milkshake! We serve only Wilcoxson's Ice Cream in our shakes, malts, floats and cones! Wilcoxson's Ice Cream has been produced in Livingston since 1914!
A Brief History...
When Mark’s In & Out first opened for business in June of 1954, President Eisenhower was in the White House, Elvis Presley had his first hit record, Livingston was a thriving railroad town and America’s love affair with the automobile was in full swing. Drive-in restaurants were springing up all over the country. Founder, Mart Phillips (it was originally called Mart's In & Out) followed this trend and opened a drive in eatery in Livingston. He provided an alternative to the full service, sit down restaurants of the day for a population on the go. In 1980, Mark and Scott Black purchased the business from Mr. Phillips (that was when the name changed fromMart’s to Mark’s) and began restoring the restaurant to it’s original glory. Today, Mark’s is run in much the same way as it was nearly 70 years ago. Over the past seven decades, hundreds of people of all ages have worked here, many of them in their first job experience. We have employed the children and even grand children of people who worked here years ago!
