Mark’s In & Out Beefburgers are definitely the best burgers we had the opportunity to sample while in Livingston. They can be found along the south side of Highway 89 at the northwest corner of the city.

While we hadn't the opportunity to try a lot of burgers during our short stay, we can definitely state that Mark's were the best of our small sampling. We are burger lovers so have tried burger joints in many states and provinces, some better than Mark's, most worse. We tried the Bacon Supercheese and the Tripleburger, both garnished just like we wanted and, though not the best burgers ever, they were waaaay up on our list of favourites. You can bet that, while we live a few hundred kliks from Livingston, we will be stopping in the next time we're anywhere near.

Like any burger joint they get the odd bar review mixed in with the rave reviews but, having been in business since 1954, they definitely must be doing something right. Don't forget that they also do the usual onion rings, fries, deep fried mushrooms, 16 flavours of shakes and great ice cream.
Mark’s In & Out Beefburgers is an original 1950's drive in in Livingston, Montana, established in 1954. We are open seasonally through the baseball season, April through October. You'll love our "Famously Fresh", 100% Pure Beefburgers! Our beef is ground fresh daily by Diamond N Meats. Never frozen! We cook and dress every Beefburger to your desire! Add a side order of crispy fries, onion rings or tater tots to round out your meal! Wash it down with an ice cold soft drink or a creamy milkshake! We serve only Wilcoxson's Ice Cream in our shakes, malts, floats and cones! Wilcoxson's Ice Cream has been produced in Livingston since 1914!
A Brief History...
When Mark’s In & Out first opened for business in June of 1954, President Eisenhower was in the White House, Elvis Presley had his first hit record, Livingston was a thriving railroad town and America’s love affair with the automobile was in full swing. Drive-in restaurants were springing up all over the country. Founder, Mart Phillips (it was originally called Mart's In & Out) followed this trend and opened a drive in eatery in Livingston. He provided an alternative to the full service, sit down restaurants of the day for a population on the go. In 1980, Mark and Scott Black purchased the business from Mr. Phillips (that was when the name changed fromMart’s to Mark’s) and began restoring the restaurant to it’s original glory. Today, Mark’s is run in much the same way as it was nearly 70 years ago. Over the past seven decades, hundreds of people of all ages have worked here, many of them in their first job experience. We have employed the children and even grand children of people who worked here years ago!

Our Philosophy
Today, after nearly 70 years, we strive to keep the best of the 1950’s alive at Mark’s. The great music, cool cars and nostalgic building are a big piece of our atmosphere but are only a small part of our success. The real reasons that our customers keep coming back is the excellent service, the super-clean kitchen, and the tasty, wholesome Beefburgers cooked and dressed the way our customers like them. The philosophy we live and work by at Mark’s might seem a little old fashioned. We try to take our ideas beyond restaurant management and apply them to everyday life. Its basic stuff like listening to our customers, keeping our promises, caring about our job and becoming leaders in our community in quality service and cleanliness. We keep it simple, enjoy ourselves and always look for ways to make things better. See for yourself, Mark’s is a fun place to eat!
