Canton Methodist Church
Interspersed throughout the district are twelve churches which add to the architectural and social significance of the area. This includes the Canton United Methodist Church (corner of Ellwood Avenue and Dillon Street). It is a simple Gothic Revival edifice built in 1884. The painted brick structure with dormers and high-pitched slate roof features pointed arches over its doorway and stained glass windows. A flower garden in the back of the church adds to the beauty of the area.
