The bust of Susanne Pluretti Hawker was created in 2009 by Dexter Benedict. The bust rests on a square black granite base. Hawker is depicted wearing a police uniform and cap.

A bronze plaque on the front of the base is inscribed:

"Protector of the Trail"

as the first female police officer
of the Village of Seneca Falls
Police Department
Established in 1831.

Dedicated 2009

In 1994 Suzanne Hawker was the first woman to become a member of the Seneca Falls police force. Officer Hawker has risen to the rank of sargent. In 2011 Sgt. Hawker received a lifesaving award for administering CPR and rescue breathing to a young man who had suffered a seizure. Finger Lakes Times
