The brown trout sculpture is a steel installation that was commissioned by Newcastle Borough Council in 2015.
The trout sculpture was designed by Andy Edwards and produced by Phil Brown and is over 4 metres long and more than 3 metres high.
The project was created in partnership with the following organisations, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Glendale, PM Training, Aspire Group, Realise Foundation, Derek Mawby Surfacing and Lafarge Tarmac.
The sculpture is one of a number of installations created by Andy Edwards that celebrate animals and plants that can be seen in the urban environment. They are all located in the centre of busy roundabouts in and around Newcastle -under-Lyme.
