The area around Bathsheba Beach is a world renown surfing area. It is located on the on the Atlantic Ocean of Barbados on the central east coast of Barbados adjacent to Highway 2.

The area around Bathsheba Beach is one of the foremost surfing spots in the world. According to World Champion surfer Kelly Slater has said that the Soup Bowl has “top 3 waves in the world” due its “really good curve that allows all sorts of manoeuvres and airs”. (visit link)

The there is ample evidence of the size and power of the waves especially around picturesque Bathsheba Park where mushroom shaped stone outcrops have bee worn away at the base due to erosion by the waves.
