Whalen Park includes a baseball diamond located near the high school. In the off season, municipal personnel maintain outdoor ice surfaces in the ballpark. On the infield, wooden boards are constructed, replicating a small hockey rink. East of the boarded rink, a smaller ice surface is maintained on the grassy outfield. In most cases, hockey is not allowed on the smaller ice surface.
There are nearby benches for lacing skates. There are plenty of shovels for clearing snow. Whalen Park has lighting over the ballpark.
