The artillery is one of two 'trophy guns' outside the World War Memorial Pool of Rockhampton. It was "taken from a pool of guns captured on the Western Front 1916 - 1918" ... and "Presented to the City of Rockhampton by the Queensland War Trophy Committee in 1920 as captured artifacts of the First World War. Restored in 2015 as a Queensland Centenary of ANZAC Initiative of the Queensland Government and Rockhampton Regional Council with technical advice provided by the Australian War Memorial.
"Restoration work undertaken and supported by: Anvill Engineering, Gracemere; National Servicemen's Combined Central Sub-Branch, RSLA (Qld); 9th Battalion AIF Living History Unit; and The 'A' Team, Rockhampton Heritage Village Volunteers." [ex-bronze plaque]
