Offerkällan (The Sacrificial spring) or Kungskällan (the King's spring) is said to be a sacrificial site where the water has healing power. There is no longer water in the spring. Only leaves and twigs can be seen at the bottom of the well. .
It is known that from the 18th century various things have been sacrificed to the spring to be cured of diseases. Among other things, money, but also foods such as bread and eggs. People also, especially at midsummer, bathed in the spring or drank from the water to cure illnesses.
It is also said that King Charles XI must have drunk the water, hence the name "Kungskällan".
A stone wall of 70 x 70 cm has been built around the spring. The well is 1.3 m deep.
On the stone wall you can read the years 1857 and 1927. Also the letters iiF.
Next to the spring, there is an iron sign with Karlskrona's city coat of arms and the text Offerkällan.
