Wooden pulpit in Holy Trinity church, Ashford in the Water.

The Church dates from the 12th century, although only some parts remain, notably the south door with its original Norman decorative stone arch tympanum and also parts of the west tower. The church underwent extensive remodelling between 1868 and 1870 by J.M. and H. Taylor.

The pulpit to the right of the nave is made of fine old oak, as is the hexagonal sounding board above. It is crafted from Jacobean panels that date from c1620, and in 1843 they were made into a pulpit with a reading desk below by local joiners. The sounding board was restored in 1996.
