Fernando Velasquez was a musician and a composer but had a short life of only 32 years. His nicely made grave marker is found inside the San Fernando Cemetery #1 at 1100 S. Colorado Street, San Antonio, TX 78237. This cemetery is in the SW corner of downtown San Antonio, TX.
This marker is found on the East side of the cemetery close to S. San Marcos Street, getting near the corner with Tampico St.
The gravestone is of gray granite and has a picture of his head and shoulders at the peak of the stone. In the center of the marker is his name, date of birth and date of death. Below these facts is text stating: Musician - Composer. On the left side border is etched a violin and on the right side border is etched a trumpet. At the bottom part of the stone is text that says: "Your music guided out lines and touched out hearts, May it continue to full heaven with joyful music."
