For whatever reason, this location is known as "Charlie's Ruts." There is a Kansas Historical Marker here (named "Santa Fe Trail Ruts") and right by the marker is a mailbox with a guest book for visitors to sign. One can then pass through a small gate and view century-old ruts on a small portion of the original Santa Fe Trail. The location is a pull-out on the north side of US 400, with plenty of room for three or four vehicles to park.
