Parking can be found at the turnoff for the gate in the highway right-of-way fence at N43 16.019 W105 17.596. The benchmark is on publicly accessible Thunder Basin National Grassland lands, and one can either go through the gate to reach the mark or view it from the highway side of the fence. The benchmark is set in the top of a square concrete post that projects about 5 inches above the ground. It is surrounded by three small I-beams that have been driven into the ground, and a broken fiberglass witness post sits to the west of the mark. Several larger rocks have been placed around the base of the concrete post.
