Pearling was a traditional activity, performed for centuries by the people of Bahrain. Since 2012 UNESCO inscribed in the list of World Heritage Sites a route of pearling, which starts in a visitors center and goes through the streets. Most of the spots are houses which belonged to pearl pickers or traders.
