[FIN] Askalan alue on Paimiossa tunnettu paikka suuren patorakennelman ja siihen liittyvän yhä toimivan Askalan voimalaitoksen vuoksi. Paimionjoen ylitse menee kävelijöille tarkoitettu riippusilta. Sen pituus on noin 50 metriä. Sillan toisella puolella on vanha asuintalo jossa on kesäisin tapahtumia. Talon ympärillä on hieno keto kukkineen. Alueelle on ollut asutusta pronssikaudesta alkaen.
Voimalaitoksen vieressä on parkkipaikka josta on lyhyt matka sillalle.
[EN] The Askala area is a well-known place in Paimio because of the large dam structure and the still functioning Askala power plant connected to it. A suspension bridge intended for pedestrians goes over Paimionjoki. Its length is about 50 meters. On the other side of the bridge is an old residential building where there are events in the summer. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowers. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. There is a parking lot next to the power plant, which is a short distance to the bridge. Below the bridge id a oldest geocache of Paimio.
