This outdoor guest book is housed in a metal container, just inside the gate to the exhibits. Just lift the lid and sign the register!

The Old Iron Town Historic Site was created by the Sons of Utah Pioneers. The main exhibit is a massive charcoal kiln that was used to make the charcoal necessary for processing iron ore. There are very few of these still in existence; the other one that was in use here crumbled and was demolished. The site was donated to the State of Nevada and is now part of the State Park System. There are several walking trails in the park, with smaller exhibits scattered throughout the park.
