This road-side pull out, on the south side of Wyatt Earp Boulevard, is home to two markers. One is a standard "State of Kansas" historical marker. The second is this stone monument to the Santa Fe Trail, erected by the Daughters of the American Revolution. There are many markers like this one along the Santa Fe Trail. Many of these century-old markers have been moved from their original locations; in this case there is often a brass plaque on the marker giving that history. However, this marker does not bear any such information. The text on the marker is:

SANTA FE TRAIL
1822-1872
Marked By

AND THE
STATE OF KANSAS
