"All Saints’ Church sits at the heart of the vibrant and friendly community of Bramham. There has been a place of worship in Bramham since 915AD, though the oval-shaped churchyard (the only one of its kind in West Yorkshire) dates from Anglo-Saxon times. The present church building was begun in 1150AD, but despite being steeped in history, the most important thing about All Saints’ is that it is a living place of worship which is loved by its community and is often to be found at the heart of village life."

Most of the gravestones of the church yard are at the southern side of the church, with some immeditaely behind the lych gate.
At the top of the lych gate, on the street side, is a date of wooden bosses, painted gold. The date has the letteers 'A D' below it (Anno Domini). The font os of a gothic type and the actual date is difficult to read but appears to be 1901.
The rear of the gate has three large letters A S C, for All Saints Church.
1901 was the year that Queen Victoria died and many memorials to here were erected across the UK. Although there is no evidence to support this it is possible that the lychgate was also erected as a memorial to her.
