A rectangular vertical sundial is located above the auxiliary entrance at the fourth bay on the south side of the First Church of Christ. The sundial is inscribed Wethersfield at the top. The hours are inscribed in Roman numerals. Diagonal lines connect the hours 7 am to 5 pm to the date 1761, the year the church was built. Smaller lines connect 6 am and 6 pm and the half hours to a rectangle a inside the edge of the sundial. Fifteen minute intervals are marked by shorter lines to a second rectangle closer to the edge.
