The historic Glenwood Furnace operated from 1853 - 1865 and is just on the edge of the George Washington National forest near Natural Bridge Station. It was built to produce iron that would end up being used for cannons used by the Confederacy. It stands roughly 24 feet tall and 24 feet wide and sits on the edge of a hill.

Parking: There is a small area near the sign for the furnace along the road.
