Garforth in Bloom are a team of volunteers that maintain many small garden areas throughout Garforth.
This garden is at the entrance to The Linesway, a former railway line that has been converted into a 'rails to trails' walking and cycling path.
According to an information board this particular garden area is especially designed to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
Our aim is to create a pollinator friendly garden with nectar rich flowers and shrubs for every season which encourage butterflies, bees and other insects to visit. We hope to provide nectar and pollen for a long flowering season. We have tried to plant flowers and shrubs with open as well as tubular flowers for the different species of bee. We have included annuals and herbs as well as perennials, biennials and bulbs.
The bug hotel itself has a variety of different environments for insects but especially the sort of holes that mason bees like to build their nests in.
