This plaque is honoring not just 9/11 victims but also Odessa Police and Firefighters. The park is at an old buffalo wallow with a small lake in the middle. Every September 11th the lake is surrounded by flags, one for each 9/11 victim. It is an impressive, moving and beautiful sight.

Liberty Gardens is the creation of a special place of natural beauty at Memorial Gardens Park to honor the memory of Odessa Police and Odessa Firefighters who have perished in the line of duty and all victims of September 11th, 2001. These brave patriots reaffirm the principles of freedom and liberty upon which America has been built.
