Riverside Park has grown considerably since the initial forty acres was purchased in 1914. This entrance, on the west edge of the park, is between the developed area to the south (with the zoo, playgrounds, splash pad, and such) and the undeveloped area to the north. A winding one-way road takes you through the trees and offers opportunities to pull over and walk in the woods. This fine yellow lion stands watch over this entrance, where there is a small parking lot.
